This Privacy Policy describes how Channel 1, Inc. ("Channel 1," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses personal information when you visit meetprism.com (the "Site"), use the Prism video production platform, purchase a subscription, or otherwise communicate with us (collectively, the "Services").
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our practices or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will post the revised version on the Site with an updated “Last updated” date and provide any additional notice required by applicable law.
Personal Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Contact and business information: name, work email, organization, role, phone number, and information submitted in demo, sales, or marketing forms.
- Account information: username, authentication information, account settings, team membership and roles, projects, and workspaces.
- Subscription and billing information: plan selection, billing contacts, transaction history, Credit consumption, and subscription status. Payment card details are collected and processed directly by Stripe; we do not receive or store full card numbers.
- Support and diagnostic information: support communications and technical records used to troubleshoot, secure, and improve the reliability of Prism. Diagnostic records may include prompts, responses, and related Customer Content when needed to investigate product behavior.
- Other information: information you choose to provide through forms, correspondence, or the Services.
Customer Content
When you use Prism, you may upload or connect recordings, footage, audio, scripts, articles, newswire feeds, prompts, and other source material ("Customer Content"). We process Customer Content on behalf of the subscribing customer to provide the Services. The customer retains its rights in Customer Content.
Where Customer Content contains personal information about other individuals—for example, people appearing or referenced in footage—we generally act as the customer's data processor or service provider. Our Data Processing Addendum at https://www.meetprism.com/legal/dpa governs that processing. The customer is responsible for providing required notices and having a lawful basis and necessary rights for the Customer Content it directs us to process.
Self-serve Prism does not perform biometric identification or create biometric templates. It may process ordinary video, images, and voices to transcribe, analyze, organize, and edit Customer Content under the customer's direction.
Cookies and similar technologies
We collect information such as device and browser details, IP address and approximate location, referring pages, and interactions with the Site or Services through cookies and similar technologies. Essential technologies support security and core functionality. On the public marketing Site, analytics and advertising pixels may also measure campaigns and visits. We do not use advertising pixels inside the authenticated Prism application.
Where applicable law requires consent, non-essential analytics and advertising technologies remain off until you opt in. You can change your choices through the Cookie Settings link on the Site. Our Cookie Policy at https://www.meetprism.com/legal/cookies describes the technologies currently in use, their purposes, providers, and retention periods.
Information from third parties
We may receive information from service providers, analytics or advertising partners, business partners, payment and fraud-prevention providers, and online technologies when you visit the Site, open an email, or interact with the Services.
How We Use Personal Information
We use personal information to:
- provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Services;
- create and manage accounts, teams, subscriptions, renewals, usage, invoices, taxes, and payments;
- transcribe, analyze, organize, edit, render, store, and deliver Customer Content as directed by the customer;
- answer requests, provide support, debug product behavior, detect misuse, protect accounts, and maintain reliability;
- communicate about the Services and send marketing communications where permitted, with an unsubscribe option;
- measure the performance of the public marketing Site and campaigns, subject to applicable consent and opt-out rights;
- comply with law, enforce our agreements, resolve disputes, and protect Channel 1, customers, users, and others; and
- carry out a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets.
Artificial Intelligence and Customer Content
Prism uses AI-assisted analysis, transcription, and editing to provide customer-directed video-production features. Users review and approve scripts and edits before publication.
We do not use Customer Content or Outputs to train generalized AI models. For AI providers we select to provide Prism, we use contractual commitments, account configurations, or service settings designed to prevent such training.
If a customer connects its own account, API key, voice, or other resource from a third-party service, the customer directs us to transmit the content and instructions necessary to operate that connection. The provider's privacy policy and the customer's agreement with that provider govern its processing. We safeguard the credential while it is under our control and stop using it when the customer disconnects the service. Our no-training commitment does not control a customer-selected provider.
How We Disclose Personal Information
We may disclose personal information:
- to service providers that perform functions such as cloud hosting and storage in multiple United States regions, AI-assisted footage analysis, transcription, payment and tax processing, email delivery, support, security, and basic website delivery;
- to analytics and advertising partners used only on the public marketing Site, subject to applicable consent and opt-out choices;
- to a third-party service a customer chooses to connect, at that customer's direction;
- to professional advisors, authorities, or other parties where reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce agreements, prevent harm, or protect rights; and
- in connection with a corporate transaction such as a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets.
We do not sell personal information for money. Depending on applicable law, disclosure of identifiers and internet activity to advertising partners through marketing-site pixels may be considered “sharing,” “targeted advertising,” or a “sale.” Where applicable, you can opt out through the Your Privacy Choices link on the Site or by using a legally recognized browser signal such as Global Privacy Control.
Payment processing and basic public-website delivery providers do not process Customer Content. Customers can obtain the current named list of subprocessors that may process Customer Content at https://www.meetprism.com/legal/subprocessors.
Security and Retention
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No security measure is perfect, and you should avoid sending sensitive information through insecure channels.
We retain personal information for periods reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain accounts, meet legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect security. Content-bearing diagnostic logs are kept while reasonably necessary for troubleshooting, support, security, and reliability during an active account, reviewed periodically, and deleted under the post-termination schedule in our DPA unless an active investigation, legal obligation, or dispute requires longer retention. Non-content metadata and properly de-identified data may be kept longer.
Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location and subject to applicable exceptions, you may have rights to access or know about personal information; obtain a portable copy; correct or delete information; restrict or object to processing; withdraw consent; opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising; and appeal a decision on a privacy request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
You may unsubscribe from promotional email through the link in the message. You may change cookie choices through Cookie Settings and, where applicable, opt out of marketing-site advertising disclosures through Your Privacy Choices or a recognized browser signal such as Global Privacy Control.
To submit a privacy request, email privacy@channel1.ai. We may take reasonable steps to verify your identity and authority. If we process information only on behalf of a Prism customer, we may direct your request to that customer.
International Users
Channel 1 is established in the United States and has offices only in the United States. Personal information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States and in locations identified in our customer-accessible Subprocessor register. Where required for transfers from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we rely on recognized transfer mechanisms such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK Addendum, and applicable Swiss adaptations.
Children's Data
The Services are intended for business and professional users and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through account registration. Footage or other Customer Content may depict children; in that context we process the content on behalf of the customer, which is responsible for the required rights, lawful basis, and notices.
Third-Party Sites and Services
The Services may link to or integrate with third-party sites and services. Their terms and privacy practices govern their processing, and Channel 1 is not responsible for non-affiliated services.
